As many of you gun owners have undoubtedly noticed, ever since the left fired up "conversation" about gun control, every retailer from midway USA to Brownells is sold out of just about every useful thing. Be it parts, magazines, ammo, etc it's all either out of stock or back ordered. Now those who might be reading that are center left or very left might be thinking "this is just the gun nuts buying up what they can before the ban" However I beg to differ. Although one gun shop is anecdotal evidence, I've heard many reports that the people coming in to buy guns now, aren't the stereotypical redneck with fifteen AKs in his safe and is looking to procure fifteen more before they ban them. On the contrary in fact, many if not most of the people buying guns now are saying "I never thought I'd own a gun but here I am buying one".
Honestly the left has shot themselves in the foot in regards to getting public support on this. Let me outline how.
1. By turning a tragedy into a political platform for removing rights from EVERYONE else who didn't commit the act.
2. By saying we need to have a "conversation" about "sensible" gun control, when in fact since at least the 1960's, liberals have consistently used this line as a not-so-subtle way of saying it's our way or the highway.
3. The people have a long term memory when it comes to things repeated, if gun control didn't work in the past, or even remotely cause a downward dip in the number of murders, suicides, mass shootings, etc then why would more help us now?
On top of this, I'd like to present an interesting fact:
According to the UNDOC,
North America has a murder rate (not counting out or focusing in on gun
murders) of 3.9. While Western Europe (which has more restrictive gun
laws then any state of the US) has a murder rate of 6.4. This alone
should be cause for concern if you're thinking gun control has any
positive effect on the murder rate of a country or region.

The hypocrisy of MSNBC, Meet the Press, and David Gregory
David Gregory, a host of Meet the Press on MSNBC, was seen on this past edition of Meet the Press, using a real 30 round USGI aluminum M16 Magazine as a prop, for an argument to ban high capacity magazines.
David makes his case saying someone with a 10 round magazine will cause less carnage and that's "common sense"
What I find puzzling is, does fewer children killed really change the situation? Will it be easier to bury those children that were within the exception? Will it be easier to explain the situation to the parents of the victims if it was only 10 children compared to 30 (assuming that every round struck and killed a child)?
Have these loony leftists never heard of such a thing as reloading? Mag changes can be made within a fraction of a second if the person has practiced mag reloads, how many people can run away and get to cover that fast?
Why not come out and reveal your grand master plan to outright ban all firearms instead of hiding behind half baked proposals of "lessening the carnage"?
David, and MSNBC as a whole failed to realize that it is a crime to possess a 30 round magazine in the District of Columbia without being law enforcement or military.
The punishment is 1 year in jail and 1,000 dollars in fines.
MSNBC contacted the DCPD about this and was told the above, yet carried on with the filming anyways.
I really do hope David Gregory gets the punishment and realizes what kind of things people subjected to his proposed ban will have to go through. Ordinary citizens who are not criminals under current law, but would be if a high cap mag ban was instituted.

Dwight R. Worley's Hypocrisy
A reporter for NY Journal not only feels that you don't have the right to own or carry firearms, but also believes you don't have a right to privacy AND, that he has these aforementioned rights.
Hate to break it to you Dwight, but no one is above the scape of being indexed by the many people search engines that are out there.
The biggest slap in the face is that Dwight himself has a carry permit and owns a S&W 686 .357 Magnum.
Give him a call why don't you?

"The NRA's proposal is ridiculous"
Over the past few days I've been hearing non-stop slamming by the leftist media about how the NRA's brilliant plan to put armed guards in schools would somehow make the problem even worse, or not even begin to address the problem.
Piers Morgan, a man I despise for being an absolute hypocrite made comments stating that the idea was silly. Funny thing is Piers himself has children going to the same school as the Obama's children, which has armed guards...
If the idea is so silly Piers, why not take your kids out of that private school and put them in the common man's public school?
Honestly I don't agree with the NRA's proposal entirely either, let me explain why. We do not need or want to live in a society where we need armed guards at every school, shopping mall, cafeteria, etc. What we need is a government that will back off on trying to destroy our rights and let us arm ourselves. It will be too expensive and put too much power in the hands of the government, to arm others to protect us.
But obviously since I'm a realist I know that this will never happen as the government pretends to want to protect us by further confiscating our freedoms and creating the slave state we will find ourselves in.
Since this is my first actual post on this blog, let me use this opportunity to say my thoughts and prayers are with the Sandy Hook shooting victims. However I do not think this tragedy should further be exploited by the media and politicians to pass gun legislation that WILL NOT stop occurrences such as this. Where the leftist media gets the idea that gun control laws have worked is beyond me, considering the most well known school shooting, Columbine occurred under the Clinton 1994-2004 AWB.
Let us not get side tracked though and pay attention to the simple fact that Adam Lanza did not even use an AR-15 to commit the acts. He had it in the trunk of his car, and if that's enough of a reason to ban them, why not also ban the make and model of car he drove there, the clothes he was wearing, the food he ate before arriving, etc ,etc? Surely those things also share the blame for the shooting if we're talking about blaming objects that were indirectly involved with it.
I end this post with a very simple statement: When they outlaw assault weapons, only the outlaws will have assault weapons.

First Post
Welcome to Stab and Shoot. Named after my youtube channel which features my political ramblings, but mostly gear reviews, and other things I find interesting. Lately it's been focused on gear and news that I find very useful and important, however I plan on adding in some other things that will make it more friendly to a wider audience.
Enough about my Youtube channel, how about this blog? I plan to use it for all those thoughts and ideas I can't really put any where else such as forums and the comments sections of news articles. Not because I CAN'T per se but because it won't get the attention I feel it deserves, be it being buried amongst thousands of other threads/posts or comments. What you will find here will be mostly my political beliefs, my beliefs about society, guns, government, and many other things. There may also be completely random and unexpected posts about a recipe I found that I just had to share. I really want this to be focused but I can't help but get side tracked occasionally. I feel that if anyone is actually reading this blog, they can and already have other sources of very focused (and probably better thought out and sourced) blogs, etc.
What you will find here is mostly distilled essence of what my character and person is about. I don't like bullshit and I love to cut through it and get through the facts (at least in theory, hopefully in practice). I also don't restrain from using what many would consider "fowl" or "bad" language, if there even is such a thing. I'm not about cursing constantly or consistently, but I certainly do not restrain from it when it's necessary. I just find that some ideas don't exactly read with the same punch if you use replacement curses such as dang, frick, gosh, darn, dangit, shut the front door, etc.
So you might be thinking now, why Stab and Shoot as a name for a youtube channel and blog? Well, honestly I have no good, profound answer for you other then I could not think of a good username that either hadn't already been taken or sounded like what I wanted it to mean. Quite frankly it stems from my belief that things that are used for stabbing and shooting are often what humanity falls back onto when talking proves time and time again to go no where except in the wrong direction and cause misery and pain through bureaucracy for it's inhabitants.
No, I do not believe that the only and best solution for all problems is by the blade or bullet, I believe negotiation has it's place. But when that goes south, we must have a standby, otherwise we are at the mercy of those who have blades and bullets.
Anyways I'm straying from explaining the purpose of this blog into subjects which deserve their own posts, so I'll stop now before this turns into a novel.
